P E Deans is predominantly a furniture and decorative accessory consignment store. Sherry added new gifts to the mix to enhance the assortment and provide her customers with a source for hostess and special occasion items. The mix is eclectic and ranges from traditional to modern.
Art and mirrors are also prevalent as these are so important to the personality and beauty of any room.
Pricing is key and the main criteria is value. Items must be priced to sell and they must represent value. The mix ranges from high end offerings such as Baker Furniture and Kreiss Collection to a beautiful, king, mahogany sleigh bed for $495.
If you have quality items that you would like to sell please contact Sherry Grossi at 626 486 2660.
About the Owner Sherry Grossi:
Sherry Grossi grew up in retailing. Starting her career in the executive training program in New York City with the then Allied Stores. Working her way up to buyer before moving to Italy with her husband Chez. There they opened a lingerie manufacturing business selling their products to the likes of Galleries Lafayette and Au Printemps as well as other stores throughout Europe. Homesick after five years they returned to the States where Sherry took up her career in retailing and Chez concentrated on real estate.
They moved to Boston to raise their daughter Alexandra. Sherry rose to vice president at Filenes in charge of the home department. She was then recruited to a division of J. Baker as senior vice president .
Sherry resigned to open her own store, The Leopard’s Spot, and ran that until their move to Los Angeles in 2001. In 2007 Chez and Sherry bought a little building in Sierra Madre and opened Zugo’s Café a small, intimate Italian eatery which has built up a loyal following.
Sherry’s passion has always been furniture, architecture and design, she just couldn’t stay away so P.E. Deans came to be. The store is named after Sherry’s mother Patricia Elizabeth Deans, a renaissance woman Sherry credits with giving her the courage to always try new things.
